Every Moment Counts!
We are so pleased to see so many children coming into school smartly dressed and ready to learn. This week the children have worked extremely hard and we were over the moon to award our new star pupil certificates in celebration assembly today. Children were reminded today that the winning house point team will as a reward have a non-uniform day at the end of half term.
Behaviour
We are continuing to work on our new school moto:
Be Ready, Be Respectful and Be Safe. The children have already shown a fantastic understanding to the new rules. You may notice that behavioural events are no longer a tab on your MCAS, instead if a behavioural incident needs to be shared with you, you be contacted by the pastoral team or class teacher.
Let's Celebrate Attendance
Well done we increased our
whole school attendance to 94.9% this week. In first place are
Year 1 with
98.7%, second place was
Year 6 with 96.5%
and in third place was
Year 3 with 94.6%.
Children at the end of term with 100% attendance will be awarded with a certificate and invited to afternoon tea. This will reset at the beginning of next half term. Polite reminder gates open from 8.30am. Registration starts at 8:40 and closes at 8:50am. Pupils who arrive after this time will be marked as late. From 9:10 the register will be closed and your child will be marked as absent. School day ends at 3:15pm.
Looking Smart
The children have come into school looking incredibly smart this week. Polite reminder children in Year 2 and above need to be wearing their school tie and jumpers need to be uniformed.
A full list of the uniform is on our website. http://www.hendersongreenprimary.co.uk/uniform
This year, children will be invited to wear their P.E uniform on P.E days. If you have any problems with uniform, please speak to the office.
EYFS/KS1 Reading Sessions
To promote reading for pleasure Reception, Year 1 and 2 would like to invite parents in
on Mondays this half term at 2:45pm to attend our daily story time sessions. Sessions will start Monday 25th September. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to come and see some of the lovely stories we have in school and for you to spend some quality reading time with your child. We have some super stories to share with you all!
A letter has been sent separately with more information.
Bushcraft Club
Year 5 and 6 Bushcraft After School Club started this week with Mr Price. Despite the torrential downpour, it didn't stop them having fun in the hall with archery. Currently all the spaces are full, but if you wish to join the waiting list please let the office know.
Each half term the year groups will change.

Future dates
